Christopher Slaymaker is a traditionally trained visionary painter. His work contains hyperreal gestural forms combined with dream-like environments, rendered with rich dynamic brushwork. Slaymaker’s approach to his subjects is gentle and focused. The figures that star in his paintings exhibit a blooming Self-awareness and a deep devotional delight. Friends, Family, lovers, beasts, and the artist himself all play a role in the narrative of spiritual unfolding in his artwork.
